We currently program a range of residential cycling and wine tasting tours in the Languedoc region based from our location at Bellegarde du Razès, close to Carcassonne airport and within easy reach of Toulouse Airport.

Our current residential tours are generally for 6-8 people with a maximum of 10  and held over 3-5 nights our own luxurious villa La Maison Barthélemy with swimming pool close to Carcassonne. For some tours further away we select other charming villa locations with authentic wine tasting at the winery.

Depending on the tour, the focus can vary, from low-budget leisure cycling and wine with group self-catering,  gastronomic tours sampling the best restaurants, or can include more “serious” cycling for hardened cyclists.  As an individual, you can book and join an existing tour, or if your group is between 6 and 8 people you can reserve a custom tour for your selected dates by contacting us at least 2-3 months before you intend to travel.

Although flights are not included in our tours,  we will take care of you from your arrival at the airport, assuming that you are able to make the pick-up time. In general there will be one airport collection, usually at 2 pm or in the morning, depending on flights. Otherwise, you can make your own way if you are arriving by car. On arrival, you will be greeted with a welcome cocktail where your tour will be presented, followed by your first wine-tasting event.

Breakfasts will be provided at our own La Maison Barthélemy or similar. Depending on the tour, there can be a group self-catering option with a fully stocked fridge, energy full packed lunches for the rides, or half board with an evening meal provided at the accommodation. There will sometimes be typical or gastronomic meals in local restaurants which can be either included or at an extra cost. See actual tour for details in calendar.

A selection of bikes and e-bikes are available and are reserved as part of the inclusive package so, unless you want to, you don’ t have to take your own bike and can travel light to the venue. The countryside is partly hilly so e-bikes are a wonderful experience allowing people who are not necessarily already keen cyclists to participate in rides that would otherwise be more challenging. We do expect you to be reasonably fit, however, and know how to ride a bike.

Most costs are included except for meals and drinks outside of the villa and any other personal costs. You will have the opportunity to order wine at the tasting sessions to be delivered to the villa for you to take with you when you leave. For larger orders, you may make arrangements at the winery for direct shipping to your home.

Check out the brochures opposite for specific tour details. “Leisure” tours usually cover around 60km per day but “Moderate” and “Advanced” cycling tours would cover a greater distance  with similar tour features.
